end of a very long day one....

Here's Mom:

Exhaustion after 18 hours to get here, walked around the area this afternoon, after a nap. Age has it's needs. It was a dreary and rainy day, we went back to the hotel to rest and read. Now to the best part of the day "dinner". On the recommendation of the hotel, we went to a steak restaurant nearby, El Mirasol, just a to block walk for the best steak I have ever had. I ordered a filet mignon, with mushroom sauce and it was cooked to perfection and there were two pieces of meat the size of the one that you would get at any New York steak restaurant. Lis ordered the rib-eye and it was enormous, also. So we are having steak sandwich's for lunch tomorrow. The best part of the evening and what I believe is the best part of traveling is that a couple from England sat down next to us and we had a lovely conversation with them. Talking to them and swapping travel stories made the evening memorable. That's it for day one, time for my beauty sleep, I don't want to scare the penguins off.

The restaurant really was as good Mom says. Lovely service with one odd bit, they take the coats and bags and place them on an extra chair and then lay a large napkin over them so they are out of the way and out of sight. And they have a sense of humor about their english speaking customers. They brought this to the table,

I wandered around a bit while Mom was resting and had an interesting spa adventure. Amazing what you can get across with gestures and Sesame Street spanish.
I'm off to read a bit and get to bed too. Early start tomorrow to hit some flea markets and a cemetery. The weather is suppose to be better but still overcast so cross your fingers for us that the clouds break and we get some sun.
